Day 1 Riverhaven RV Park Hedley

Hi everyone:
Here we go with another Conway vacation story. For those of you not familiar with us, the Conways going on vacation is very similar to the Chevy Chase movie "Family Vacation and we are affectiontly known amongst our friends as the "Griswolds". Just a couple of incidents, like the sewer hose dangling off the back of our trailer while entering Victoria, trying to drive away with our stabilizers still down, driving down the freeway in Vancouver with the trailer door flapping, and people assume we don't know what we are doing. At least we have never had the dog tied to the bumper!!
So the first day of our holiday was supposed to start with getting the 7:45am ferry from Nanaimo to Vancouver. The night before we were all packed and ready to rumble at 6:30am ti catch the ferry.
But Stephen came home from his job at Starbucks at 12:30am and we heard him enter the house then leave again. Back about 1am, John got up to see what was happening. Seems he couldn't find his wallet and had no idea where it was at. He went back to work to look, but couldn't find it. He then proceeded to look everywhere in the house, his bedroom and his car. Still no wallet! John and I were up trying to help him. He called and cancelled his bank and credit cards. After some thought, we thought that maybe he had left his wallet at Aviva's the previous night when the gang got together for dinner and tv. So he texted her and we finally got to bed again about 2am.
With little sleep we made the ferry and got to Vancouver
about 10am and headed out. The plan is to spend 2 nights in Hedley, then 4 nights in Penticton, a few nights in Osoyoos and head down into the US to Washington State. See the Grand Coulee Dam, Leavenworth, and various Pacific Northwest areas.
We made Hedley by 4pm today. Everything was uneventful. Stopped for lunch at a truck stop called Gloria's Diner in Chilliwack. Great burgers and homemade fries. Frank and Sue Higgins were travelling with us in their 5th wheel. They headed up to Merritt area for a few nights and we may meet up with them again in Osoyoos and travel with them for awhile.
The picture is of our spot at the RiverHaven RV Park in Hedley. Pretty little place, we back right onto the Similkameen River. John is going to try fishing tomorrow and we will check out the local sights.
